The UPR Foundation channels donations to strengthen scholarships and research at the Mayagüez University Campus
The UPR Foundation, Inc. formalized the delivery and endorsement of several donations to the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM), aimed at strengthening student scholarship initiatives, academic research, and alumni support, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence and the institutional development of UPRM.

As part of these efforts, the UPR Foundation channeled a donation of $4,850.00 from Mr. Carlos Flores, earmarked for the creation of an Engineering scholarship for students at the Mayagüez Campus. According to the donation letter, the donation was made in memory of the donor's father, and the donor delegated to the University the process of applying for and selecting the scholarship recipient, in accordance with established institutional criteria. The official delivery of the donation was made on July 8, 2025, by check payable to UPR Mayagüez.

Additionally, the UPR Foundation awarded an annual donation of $4,850.00, contributed by alumnus José Martí, to support a research project at the Mayagüez Campus, led by Professor Ricky Valentín and Dr. Cedeño. This contribution supports research efforts that advance knowledge and strengthen the academic standing of the campus.

As part of the same initiatives, the Foundation also endorsed an additional donation of $712.48, generated from contributions made by alumni of the University of Puerto Rico through the purchase of memorabilia during the CIAPR Surveyors Convention, held on March 13 and 14. These funds were allocated to the scholarship and initiatives fund of the University of Puerto Rico Alumni Office, thus supporting the continued participation and commitment of the university community.

These donations, channeled through the UPR Foundation, Inc., demonstrate the positive impact of university philanthropy and the continued support of donors and alumni to the Mayagüez University Campus, strengthening opportunities for scholarships, research, and engagement with the university community.
